Shipping 90% of our shipments are shipped via UPS Next Day Air to your door. Shipping is a flat rate of $39.95 no matter how many animals you purchase. This only applies if the animal(s) are ordered at the same time. We ship Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We do not ship on Fridays. We utilize Shipping Materials designed and made specifically for shipping Live Animals. We always do our best to get orders out on the same day that they are received. The earlier we receive an order the better the chance it will be shipped out on the same day. There are always exceptions to this and it is best to contact us to if you need to confirm when your order is being shipped. There are some days that we are booked solid and just can't get any new orders out. Other possible reasons shipments are held back are adverse weather conditions, or if an animal is unsuitable to ship such as one that has just eaten a large meal. We ship most of our animals UPS Next Day Air. On occasion we will utilize Federal Express. In most instances, shipments leave our facility at 5:00 P.M. and reach their destination by 10:30 A.M. the next morning. We have made arrangements with UPS to be their last pick-up of the day. In doing this, the animals spend the least amount of time possible in transit.
UPS has their main distribution hub is in Louisville, KY which is always taken into account when calculating temperature extremes.
The following is a link to "The Weather Channel's - Tonight's Forecast Map" which we use to determine proper packing. It is always advisable to check the weather before placing your order.
It is very important that someone is waiting at the receiving address in order to sign for, and receive your order when the delivery person arrives. You ultimately are responsible in insuring that the package is received on the first delivery attempt.
Not to worry, we have been shipping utilizing heat and cold packs since 1992. Without trying to sound arrogant, we know what we are doing.
When you receive your order, open the box immediately and let the temperature of the animal(s) either cool down or warm up gradually to room temperature.
In conclusion, we have excellent results using UPS as our our main shipper and have no problem recommending them. |
